Description

The National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program is an effort to gather health data from one million or more people living in the United States. This data from diverse population groups will be stored in a database that researchers can use to learn how people’s genetic makeup, habits and activities, and environment affect their health — which may help researchers find new ways to treat and prevent disease.

Participants in All of Us can choose to get DNA test results over time. DNA testing can give people information about their ancestry, their genetic traits, and their risk of developing certain health conditions.

In this course, health care providers will learn about the All of Us Research Program, the types of DNA test results available to participants, and resources participants can access through the program, like genetic counseling.

After completing the course, providers will be able to answer questions about the research program and guide participants in using what they learn through All of Us to inform health care decisions.

Once you complete this course, we encourage you to enroll in Learn About Genetic Testing and Counseling
